"Wings of Summer " Challenge











 I made this work for Квиллинг - задание № 2 - "Крылья лета" ( "Wings of Summer" Challenge) from Homyachok ( russian challenge blog)

The rule for this challenge is to create any kind of work  like postcard,  ornament , picture frame or something else wich must including a flower ( any colors) and a flying creature ( dragonfly, bird, butterfly...) using quilling technique.

Lights and shadows

I used as support for this work an CD on wich I applied quilling items. When I finished and I wanted to take pictures for this post... started the show. The reflection of light and camera flash on the CD gave me some beautiful shots that I wanted to share with you .Just take a look...



















The last one is without cd support.
 Here are a lot of shots, but it was a bit difficult to choose because I like all.

White swan - tutorial



 It was funny to create this swan. First I drew a swan , then I used flower petals( wich were cuted with large and small  petals die cut) to create the impresion of feathers.

 Then I glued the petals following outline drawing

Finally I got up / folded a little the feather to create 3D effect, wich ,unfortunately, did not quite see in the picture only in reality

Water lily



Read the story of this flower. is called  Thermal Water Lily (Nymphaea lotus thermalis) and in Europe it is found only in Romania, to the 1May Bay and is protected by law. Thermal water lily species is a remnant of a warm climate vegetation of Tertiary period and it survived the climate cooling during the Quaternary glaciation because it grow up in a thermal water. It is the only case when  a tropical species living spontaneously in a temperate climate. This species is also found only in Egypt.

                                                         This picture was my inspiration.
